Wow, it has been a while (too long) since I have published a blog post. For the ones that don’t know me, my name is Matt Cobb and I am currently the Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics with the Clemson University Athletics Department (Go Tigers!!!). I have been using Tableau since 2012 (Tableau 6) and owe much of my career progression to it. Several things have happened since the last time I was active in the Tableau community. I became a father, got a new job and started grad school all in the past couple years. As part of my new beginning, I felt that a “rebrand” was in order (my old blog used to be called Mr. Data Jockey, and for those of you that were at TC14 in Seattle, I came up with that after seeing Sir Mix-a-lot live. Where do you guys think Matt Chambers got his awesome blog name?). So without further ado, welcome to my new blog, Down For The Count. My goal with this blog is to share interesting data visualizations, stories and tips that will help add value to the Tableau Community. As I am one of the few people working in an analytical role within a sports organization, sports data is my first love and lot of my material will be sports related (I plan to do other things though, stay tuned…).
