CFP Initial Top 4: A Twenty Year History

For my first Tableau Public viz in over two years, I decided that I wanted to do something different, unique. While I may have not been active in the community, I still managed to keep up with the awesome work that was being published up to Tableau Public. From what I have seen, not many people choose to use Coxcomb charts in their visualizations. While these chart types are very unique (thanks Florence Nightingale), they have very specific use cases. In order to do something unique, I thought that I would use them to create a viz that shows the total wins per season for the teams that were in the initial top 4 of this year’s College Football Playoff rankings. I also used the awesome Viz-In-Tooltip feature to allow users to hover over a “slice” (each one representing a season) and see that team’s schedule and results for that season; along with a couple other things of note. For those wondering, yes, I will be doing a simple how-to to post on how to create these in Tableau in the next couple days. Check it out below…
